BODY:
NATIONWIDE DSN REPORT -- After two years of flat sales in patio furniture,
'96 could be a turning point.

. . . .

    * Sunbeam introduced two collections of resin, a wicker, open-mesh design
called Alpine and a slatted-back chair line called SeaCliff. The company sees
a consumer shift to lighter shades of green, which it calls Sage and Sand.

. . . .

With the acquisition of Rubbermaid, Sunbeam expanded into the resin
category from aluminum and wrought iron, said John Oppenheimer, vp, and
managing director, casual furniture products.

Sunbeam will sell-through existing resin inventory with the Rubbermaid
brand name but will switch to the Sunbeam name on resin over the next year,
Oppenheimer said.
