Sunbeamers,

When I filled the final drive of my GT IV yesterday with gearbox oil and turned
the wheels, yes it was of the floor !
I noticed a leak at the left hand side axle end, the oil ws coming out along the
shaft end near the centre nut.
(Yes I unblocked the breather plug, first)
Q1:
Is it possible that I overfilled it ? the oil level is up to the filler
plug.
Q2:
Would this oil leak be cured when I only put a new seal in with lots
of liquid sealant, so I don't have to remove the complete drive shaft ?
Q3:
If I must remove the complete drive shaft how can that be done when you
don't have that special shaft puller tool Rootes describes in the manual ?

>Thanx for your input. Do you know of any printed material addressing the
>body restoration process?
Look in your local magazine shop, and see if they got Practical
Classics and car restorer magazine.
That's the most practical magazine covering total car restoration and
they have special booklet's about restoration work for particular type
of cars like the Alpine which they have done in the past.
You can order one of those.

Thanks in advance, Bert
