Removing Springs

Ok, now that I am convinced in every way that the CAT rubber insulator is
causing my car to ride too high, can I take out the spring with a spring
compressor and without having to undo lower A-arm at the hub (and
remove the sway bar)? My recollection from taking it all apart, is no. I
don't think that there is enough spring showing to compress to give enough
room to pull it out. I didn't care then because I was taking everything
apart to replace all the bushings, joints, etc. But, now, eh so it rides
a bit too high. From looking at the pictures of all the Alpines I could
find, there are certainly plenty out there riding just as high and higher.
