Hey, I'm the lawyer. That's my line! Seriously, I think you are right
on both counts. Not much of the spring shows through to grab and
compress. So the wire and the compressor don't really add that much. On
the other hand, I have heard of those springs doing what they do best:
SPRING - right on out of there. Wouldn't want to have my face down there
when it goes.
