Why me? Mine isn't on the road yet. There are others on the list with
running versions but I won't name any names in case they want to stay
anonomous. There are quite a few people with this swap. Almost too many
for those who want to be different.
I'm very close and with any luck I'll be able to tell you all about it in a
month or two.
This swap can be done very cleanly. The motor really looks like it belongs
there, in my car anyway. You need to abandon the stock Alpine mounts and
weld your own to the Alpine crossmember. The trans mount can be done in
Tiger fashion. You can use the stock Alpine radiator in the stock location,
I'm not sure if it has the capacity for a "built" motor however. I used the
Alpine clutch master and slave adapted to the T5 bellhousing. More details
available to those interested. Not a bad swap if you are in the right frame
of mind.
