Splined Hub removed...

Nothing PROPER would remove the splined hub. I pulled the axel, hub and all,
out.

Since the Hub was no good I had it cut of with a torch.

The threads on the axel were splayed as predicted but that can be taken care of.

New problem. The hub I found to replace it does not fit.

The diameter inside the new hub is actually smaller.

(It is not actually new but has sharp splines)

The widest part of the hub on which the holes are found into which the
bolts for the drum are screwed

     is square in shape /---------------\

Apparantly this indicates it is from an Alpine and not round like an MGA.

Qs.(1)I am not aware of different sized splined hubs. Any thoughts?

I could use a Rear driver's side splined hub that fits.

The hub should be stamped with LHS, the threads will tighten clockwise.
