Yes, the half-shafts of the Series V cars (and on into the 'Arrow' range
of cars) were thicker that the previous ones in order to cope with the
increased power of the 1725cc engines.
The axel holes are different sizes bcause these thicker half-shafts use
sealed bearings instead the earlier unsealed ones.
