More on Wire Wheels

I just called Valley Wire Wheel in North Hollywood (818) 765-3258 where I bought my wire wheels from years ago (now with different owners). He agreed that the Midget and Alpine wheels were the same. He could not off the top of his head confirm that the MGB and Alpine hubs were the same. He thought that the splines and diameter were the same, but would have to check to see if the angle of the end of the hub that rests on the back of the wheel was the same.

He also said that he has seen a bunch of the alloy knock off wheels, and many are very nice wheels. But, on the last set he saw, 3 out of 4 of the center hubs were not mounted exactly true to the center of the wheel, causing a need for more weights than he thought was reasonable. Lastly, as far a Moss' listing the same wheel for different cars, I thought Moss does a lot of research before they list something so he wouldn't question them.
