I saw this advertised for sale on the newsgroups (San Francisco bay
area). I've seen it at Palo Alto - it's pretty intriguing.

DO NOT REPLY TO MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IF INTERESTED, PLEASE!
--------------------------------------------------------

+ Red, 2-seat convertible (looks like miniature T-Bird)
+ Shown at Palo Alto Concourse D'elegance 3 years running, and other
  bay area shows and rallies.
+ 7000 miles on new Invicta GLR tires
+ Custom curly maple dashboard
+ Converted to battery operation
+ Prestolite 20 hp motor adapted to existing 4 spd drivetrain
        + Curtis 1221B motor speed controller (120v, 400A limit)
+ ~35 mile range per charge
+ on board 120v charger (simple bridge with automatic shutoff)
+ 75-80 mph top speed, good acceleration from a stop

After 4 years of driving the batteries need replacement (~$1000). Just add
batteries or start where I left off and make the project your own (add a new
higher wattage controller? Increase pack voltage? Hybrid power system?)

Asking $3600/OBO - this is practically a parting-out price. If you are
interested in a project like this, reply to phebert(at)pa.dec.com.
