To Join SAOC:
The Membership Secretary is John Roseby at 31, Park Lane, Frodsham,
Cheshire, WA6 6RZ, England. Once you are a member, you can buy all sorts
of stuff from the Regalia Officer, including the Alpine Guide for 10.50
English Pounds plus 4.74 English Pounds for the Edition II update.
Membership prices are as follows (all in English pounds):
Europe: Annual Fee, 13; Joint, add 2; Life 117; Joint Life 135
Rest World: Annual, 16; Joint, add 2; Life 144; Joint Life 162
(these numbers may have changed, but I don't think so)
There is an application form, that asks for the following info, which I
figure they will take on any paper:
Name, Address, Telephone, Joint Member Name (another member at same
address, only one copy of Horn), Date, Amount Enclosed, Do you hold a
Competition License, Type of License, Events most interested in
(ie, Rally, Race or Non-Competitive).
And, there is a Registrar's Database Amendment Form that asks the
following: Is this an update form? If so give record numbers to be
amended, Chassis Number, Body or SAL Number, Current Registration Number,
Original Registration Number, Original Colour Code, Actual Body Colour,
Date of 1st Registration, Owner's Name, SAOC Membership Number, Owner's
Country of Residence, Date Vehicle Acquired, and Any other relevant
details.
To pay them you need to get a check drawn in British Pounds Sterling.
This really is not difficult to get, only you have to get around to doing
it. There is a place here in Century City, Los Angeles, that I go to,
called Ruesch International. I usually join for a few years at a time to
save the hassle. Maybe if the exchange rate is real good one year I'll
go for a life membership.
