The following message came to me directly and not from the group, so I am
forwarding it on to the group. I might add that I am running Michelin
XZX's which are 165 SR 13s which are just slightly smaller than stock,
and would prefer just a bit bigger too. Jay
FORWARDED MESSAGE from Jarrid Gross (MAIL(at)CSERVE {INTERNET:GROSS(at)unit.com})
I got some info from yokohama on thier 60 series tires. Since many of us
are using them, I thought you may like this data as well.
Size Diameter Width (mm)
205/60 SR13 574 204
185/60 SR13 551 185
Also a while back before I installed my autocrossing tires, I experimented
with
185/80 R 13 tires.
185/80 R13 626 185
These tires would yield about 150 RPM reduction in engine speed at 60 MPH.
They did'nt seem rediculously tall to me, but then again, I was running
wire wheels and the car was'nt lowered yet.
Cheers,
Jarrid
