Does irt stop as if it were hitting an obstruction or just kind of
loses interest at that point. Yes with some electronics knowledge they
can be fixed and calibrated. If you are or have someone who knows some
electronics lat me know and I'll try to find the schematics etc.

Yes - the antenna cable is connected th the chassis of the radio at one
end and the car body at the other - "+" at one end "-" at the other =
lots of electricity = smoke etc. It is fairly simple to change the
polarity of the car's system - I believe there is a www page somewhere
on this (anyone out there help???). If not people here can advise you.
