There were not too many Rootes Factory Alpines built.
I have heard that at least one or two had aluminum skinned doors, hood and
trunk lid.
There were however, quite a few individually raced alpines during the
sixties. Some were more succesfull than others.

If this car has a SCCA or other race org. logbook, this vehicle could still
be a nice historic alpine. Granted, the value of this car would be approx.
that of any other alpine of its condition level. The fact that the motor is
gone is very unfortunate.

The rear end being that of a tiger "if this statement is exactly true" would
lead me to believe that this car was raced in the latter portion of the
sixties.

The more correct posi unit that was available in the early sixties was from
the "DANA 27?" rear axle assy, which is lighter.

I have heard that only the center section was used from the DANA axle and
there was a series of mods to perform.

Does anybody have any information on the exact details of the Alpine Posi
story.

I'd really like to get/make one.
