I have been working with ARP on this effort for a couple of months now. I
sent them
both a rod bolt, and a complete rod assembly. I also talked with a guy from
Florida who had been talking with them, but this is the first I've heard
about
someone from CT being interested.
Right now, I'm waiting for them to get back to me with a quote on cost at
various
production levels. Looks like the initial setup costs are going to be
somewhere
around $150 to produce one set of bolts. The unknown right now is what the
unit cost would be for "n" additional sets. Though I don't know anything
about
the various cost factors, I'd be surprised if we could get the price down to
$40
per set with as few as ten sets. I'm expecting it to be more in the $50 to
$60 range,
and I'm expecting we might have to buy twenty or more sets to get it that
low.
I have identified a potential "market" for a mere five or six sets for
myself and
friends here in Southern California. When I posted a query to this list a
while back,
I got one response. So that's six or seven sets there. Adding the guy in
Florida
would bring it up to seven or eight, and whoever it is in CT would make it
eight or nine. So, Gary, would you be "in" for a set, making it nine or
ten?
