LHD-RHD Alpines

Listers

I have been a keen reader of the list for a few months now and if anything
the info has steeled my desire to obtain an alpine. To experience the joy
of open air motoring, and not in an MG, sounds too good to be true.
Unfortunately here in Brisbane, Australia there is a definite lack of
alpines in any shape or form. In the last 8 months I have only seen 3 for
sale and these were all over $10000, a bit out of my price range. Until
recently that is. There is a guy here now that is importing alpines, MG's
etc from the US and the prices seem much more reasonable but obviously they
are all LHD.

What I would like to know is:
        1) What is involved in converting a car from LHD to RHD
(particularly a series V)?
        2) What parts do they have in common to the other Rootes vehicles?
        3) Are body panels available? New, second hand only?
        5) WHat about mechanical and suspension components?
        6) WHat sources are there for spares in Oz?
        7) What would a reasonable car in LHD be worth?
        8) Are there any special things I should be looking at when
inspecting a potential car?
        9) Has anyone here in Oz actually been through this process who
could give me some info?

Thanks for any info in advance

Justin
