I find that in my mailer, (Pegasus), I have to turn off the feature which
spaces the characters closer together for space saving and use
monospacing(?) instead. This makes the ascii art look good but spreads the
letters so that I have to use more screen space in the reader window. This
is a pain but is easier than modifying equivalent brain programming.
