Jarrid
If you burned up the planetary and sun gears, you are in luck.
Gears from any of the D type overdrives should fit. The most common ones
around are off of the old Volvos (that's where I got my unit). If you
blew up the tail piece (I'm blanking on what that piece is called) then
you are in trouble. If you want another blown up Sunbeam OD, I can send
you one. I still am planning on installing the Volvo unit that I have
meshed to a series II OD gearbox. The drive shaft will be an MGB shaft.
I may have to lengthen or shorten it by an inch or so to make it fit, but
otherwise the flanges are exactly the same. This way, I will have a
series II gearbox with the more common (and less tempermental) Volvo OD
with a 32% reduction for the series V engine that's in my series II car
with the MGB seats. Now you know why I call it a FrankenSeries II. Parts
is Parts. Little bitty pieces parts. Fused.
I Still haven/t had the time to try out that 7/8" sway bar yet. I
hope to do it next week and then send it down to you to check the fit.
I'll e-mail you before I send it.
