Here is the scoop on the numbers on the firewall of my Sunbeams:
1954 Drophead Coupe: V.I.N. A3016148 LCX, ET256, Body No. 11426
1953 Alpine: V.I.N. A3013668 LRX (stamped on frame), EF567
Body No. - missing, (VIN Plate attached to the firewall
on this car belongs to a saloon #A3011711 LSX)
1954 Saloon: V.I.N. A3011504 LSX, Body No. STS 21282, no "EF" type number
I believe the bodies for the Alpines and DHC were made by
Thrupp & Maberly which might explain the ET/EF numbers as this
number is missing on the saloon which I believe was made by British Light
Steel, another Rootes subsiduary. You probably already know this.
