Good news bad news:
Good News is I got the Rootes workshp manual (wsm 145) for my Alpine. Bad
news is the more I look at my electrics the less they look like what they are
supposed to.

The DPO put in an Autolite alternator. No problem there, I gave up on the
originality bug when I figured out I don't have matching engine and Chasis#.
The catch is that the Lucas Alternator control is buypassed (two wires from
the negative going to ground) and I can't make sense of the field isololator
wiring (the connections on the box do not appear to be marked)

Does the Autolite alternator have some sort of built in stabilizer that
maintains the alternator terminal voltage at a constant predetermiend value?

If I wire up the Autolite like the schematics show will I release smoke from
the wires?

Don't even get me started on all the unattached wires under the dash. I am
afraid that they are unplugged for a reason (i.e. plug it in "poof" find out
why they were unplugged in the first place.

Thanks,
Chris
