I posted a question a few days ago about some Alpine paint codes and what
their modern equivalents would be. I only received one response. The
current codes and reference numbers are constantly changing, and there are so
many different brands of paint to choose from that it could drive a person
batty. Then I got to thinking if someone wanted to paint their Alpine a
stock color, how great it would be if we could actually download the stock
color swatches we were interested in!!! With the way auto paint technology is
today, you could bring the color swatch to your auto paint person and have
him (her) match the color using that fancy color matching computer!
So, I propose, with the help of the list, to find all the Alpine stock colors
and scan them (or electronically mix them) and make the swatches available
for download. I will make instructions for a uniform printing procedure for
the swatches (very easy to do) so there is no color variation and include the
instructions for printing (probably at a graphics service bureau which would
cost about $8-$12).
If anyone has Rootes color swatches they could loan me, or samples from some
leftover paint from an Alpine repaint of a stock color, contact me. I could
match these colors and create a comprehensive stock Alpine color list for all
to use.
