Fellow Scions,
This sounds like a hoax, but the story is true. This car was one of
two that were being shipped from the factory to California in 1978 in a
container and never arrived at its destination and were discovered on
a dock in Germany 15 years later. This car became the possession of one
of the British Leyland executives who is now retired and lives near Halifax,
Nova Scotia and it is now in the hands of a local "prestige" auto dealer and
for sale in the 13 - 14K Can. dollar (~10,000.00 U.S.) range. It has
approximately 1,800 *original* kms on the clock, is BR Green with a green
plaid upholstery. It is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia and obviously
"smogged" for California which was its original destination 19 years ago.
If anyone is interested in this car, send me a message and I'll give
you more information on the location. For those of you who are interested in
TR7's this is like buying one right out of the showroom. The usual
disclaimers,
I have no personal interest in this car but would like to see it in the hands
of someone who would appreciate it. Now if it was a Sunbeam Talbot, nobody
would know about it except me!! ;-)
Regards,
Bob
