The easiest difference to spot are the spark plug holes. On Series I thru
most of Series V, the hole is cylindrical. On late Series V's (roughly from
B395017000 onwards) the hole is in a recessed pocket.
If you somehow ended up with a 1725cc head from a later fastback Alpine,
you'll find single springs instead of double, plus narrower intake ports.
