Is this the regular "Series" type alpine, or is it a "GT" model based on
the
newest Rapier?

If its not a "series" alpine, I doubt you'll fit the V8 in it, as the
strut type suspension
would not be as tolerant to the foriegn power plant as would be the
earlier.

Of course! That's how the factory built the Tiger.

However, I recommend against it. It is difficult, involving a lot of
mods to the firewall, steering box, and front suspension. And you'll
need a complete new transmission and rear end. Much easier, and
probably cheaper, to just buy a Tiger.

If you're looking for more power for your Alpine, there are a couple
of options. One is a Holbay upgrade. Holbay is a company in the UK
hat specializes in Alpine engines. You can get your engine up to 120
hp with Holbay mods. See the Alpine suppliers web page for Holbay
info.

Another common Alpine mod is a V6, especially the Capri V6. There are
a couple of articles about V6 upgrades on the Alpines web page.

Good luck,
