Gale, one thing I did after I got the darn thing off was to cut
off the starter lugs and grind the remaining surface of the bolt smooth.
I did not think I would be resorting to start the car with a starter
crank! I actually dropped a crank bolt while on a trip out and
fortunately the fan belt held the pulley in place for a good 25 miles
until I parked it in the garage and turned the engine off. I then heard
a loud clang as the pulley hit the floor! So.... Make sure it is tight!
