My S.II came with the spring loaded plate holder. This holder is also the
"home market" version for the U.K. style plates. Are the non-spring loaded
ones sized for American plate dimensions? I'm guessing they dropped the spring
loading when they adopted an Americanized version for our market (at S.III?).
The U.K. holder does look a bit funky sticking out from both sides of a
relatively narrow American license plate. I think these holders were also
originally black, which would have made them stand out even worse against
contrasting body colors.

It also had clips for the crank, jack, and knockoff hammer. May also have
something for a tool roll, but I don't recall.
