I did make one out of a 1/4" think piece of aluminum I (my dad) had lying
around. It looks real cool - and I have to say, is one of the parts of
the car I am most proud of! Being hand crafted and all. As to Barrie's
suggestion on leaving an old pump on, slow, very slow. OTOH, it sure
would be nice to have it there when the electric one fails! ;-)

Assume your question means you are using an electric fuel pump?

If so, why not just stick on an original mechanical fuel pump - with nothing
connected to it - you could remove the actuating lever (or whatever it's ca
lled) and just let the pump be a dummy block off plate. Cost-wise it beats
the hell out of having one machined.

Cheers, Barrie
