I do believe that there is an error in the original post. Sunbeam Talbots
came in three bodies, the saloon (4 door), the coupe' (drop head/convertible
2 door), and the 2 seater Alpine (short production run). I've never heard
of a 4 door coupe.
The Sunbeam Talbot 90 Mark III was rated at 80 HP from 2267 cc. The earlier
80 series (ended in 1950) only made 47 horses from 1185 cc.
As for a tow vehicle, it might not get you there in a hurry, but drop it into
first gear (the owner's manual calls it Emergency Low) and it will get your
rig up almost any hill.

I wasn't aware there was such a thing as a ST coupe. Anyone know for
sure? All I ever saw were 4 dr. Also, if it is a model 80, I doubt that
is horsepower. Finally, I doubt it would make a good tow vehicle, unless
one gave it an engine transplant.
Questions aside, I think they are some of the classiest looking cars from
postwar England. If it were closer I would not be able to resist going
to check it out.
