Thanks Jarrid-I had a good look at it today and think I may have found
the problem. They did rebush and replace the spindles and the timing did
bounce around so I had a good look at the distributor. The plate that
the points sit on seems to have a lot of up and down play in it.When it
does this it rocks the points open and closed which I'm sure is causing
the problem. There are a couple of nylon bushes which are supposed to
hold that plate at a constant angle and mine appear to be worn. I have a
spare plate that I'll try and fit but its only marginally better than
the one there now-Has any one had this problem or know an easy way of
fixing it. Karl
