Running Restorations

Ok, as one of my last e-mails for hopefully only a few weeks, I have to
put my $.02 in about running restorations - since I did both on my car. I
bought my Alpine, got it running and kept it running for years before I
stopped and stripped it down. The piecemeal work keeping it running
always seemed to be just that - every few weeks something else would
break. The frustration in loosing interest in finishing a restoration
is certainly equal to the frustration in the d*mn car breaking down again
and again and again. Since I have "finished" restoring it, with new just
about everything, it runs like a clock (well, not a Smiths clock). I'm
sure it will break again. But, it's not quite the same.

And, although it is expensive to restore a car "just so", and you see all
those bills coming in (the way I figure it, we should all be "special"
customers of Sunbeam Specialties by now), it is probably even more
expensive to do it piecemeal, you just don't realize it.

So, the best of all worlds is to have another LBC to enjoy in the
meantime, knowing you'll have even a better one when the Alpine is done!

Good luck. I'll be back soon.

Jay
