I have had a few Series Vs as well as a 1966 Imp all of which had black gas tanks, as does my current Series V.

Just a weird question,
Having browsed through the archives, I have not found this burning
question answered. I have an early (395002095) Series V Alpine. The gas
tanks are painted red. They look like something that fell off a Landrover
or something. The only other gas tanks I have seen (late model Series V)
were black. Which is correct?
