I had a problem once when I bought a re-built pressure plate. Seems that
the springs had lost their tension and at high RPM's the engine tork was
causing the clutch plate to slip. I bought a new pressure plate and that
solved the problem. I can even get a second gear "chirp" when I'm racing
around (ok you Tiger guys, remember I only have a 4 banger).
