wire wheels

Just to let you all know - I haven't given up on trying to replace my
wires with spoke w/ knock off hubs. As much as I like my wires, and I
will keep them, the maintenance is too much. Every time I look, there
seems to be broken spokes - now I have three in a row. Prelude to
catastrophic failure? Professional trueing costs at least $100/wheel
and have heard that even new wheels need to be trued. I just don't
think its worth it.

With my engine rebuilt and working properly, I want to improve the
suspension and handling and want to start with good spokes and tubeless
radials (but want to keep the splines). I found a English dealer
(purveyor?) of MG parts in "MG enthusiats" mag who apparently sells
alloy knock off spokes for MGB/MGAs in 5Jx14" or 5Jx15" at 130lbs/ea
($200?) so I'll give them a holler soon. Also - found that Conti sells
sport contacts at odd size: 185/55-15s.
