Sounds very much like the blown gasket.
Go to a garage, and have the radiator pressure monitered, or have the
coolant "sniffed" with the color changing chemical

Also see if the radiator bubbles with the engine cold.

You will need a new side cover gasket.

Also, the oil filter block will need to be removed to gain acces to some
of the
side cover bolts, and this/these gaskets should be replaced, but I
generally
reuse these as the re-seal well.

Be ceratain to use thread sealant on the top 5 side cover holes. If not,
the
car will weep oil.

It would also be advisable to replace the thermo housing to the head
gasket,
the thermo gasket and the tappet cover gasket (unless still usable).

Its all cheap stuff, so do it.

use a straight edge and a feeler gauge.

You should skim the head anyway, but you will probalbly find that the
real reason
the gasket blew, is cooling passage corrosion in the head.

This will need to be Heli-arc welded. see a good head rebuilding shop.
