Well, obviously you'll need a bottle Of Castrol GT-LMA Brake fluid or
two, you can never have enough of his stuff. It's a brake fluid, and
it's a desert topping and a floor wax. No not really, just the only
brake fluid our LBC's can use, if original. From the sudden nature of
the event, my guess would be a broken hose, or the hose has come out of
the slave cylinder. Or the bolts on the slave cylinder have fallen out
and the thing is just hanging on the end of the clutch arm. You may
have to disconnect the line at the clutch master so that you force some
air in to the master to push the piston back before you can add any
fluid. When you do this, take the top off of the reservoir, and place a
big old towel over the reservoir, because when you use the air to push
the piston back the air will blow brake fluid out of the reservoir and
into the air and all those little drops will melt the paint that they
land on. NOT a good thing. If the flexible hose, cloth casing type, is
still on the car, you might use this as an opportunity to update this
hose to the ones made of a newer material. And perhaps to replace both
the Master and the slave if either are questionable. This way, the
clutch hydraulics will not need repairing again for a good long time,
and it's relatively cheap to do at this point.
