Those Daihatsu's are built about as sparse as Yugos.
He did'nt seem to have the switch.
I think its a safety feature, but not a DOT requirement.
my 1995 Jeep Cherokee will start sans clutch too.
In any case, of all the times Ive legitimately driven this way,
the clutch cable was broken, so the switch "if present" would
have already been actuated with the pedal to the floor.
