In a message dated 97-07-28 13:04:09 EDT, you write:

Stainless looks great, but doesnt have the strength that some steel has.
If the fastener has significant loads on it DONT use stainless.
If it is an engine fastener, like a headbolt, manifold stud etc DONT use
stainless. There are not too many places on the engine where
stainless is acceptable. On the suspension, DONT use stainless.

Good advice. On my recent installation of a refurbished front suspension I
went to look for grade 8 bolts in stainless and the guy told me they do not
exist. They rate stainless on a different scale but the stongest are the
rough equivalent to a grade 3. Minimum for the front suspension would be
grade 5 [as best I have been able to determine].

Unrelated issue, the Delron synthetic bushings squeak awful. Any suggestions
out there on whether they can be lubricated? Will they eventually quiet down?
