It's tough for the those 30+ year old parts to rust whenthey
haven't seen fresh air or even Light in 25+years.

Allowing for a five years grease buildup. (ie New, 3 months
later leak starts, following month more leaks starts, 6 months later
grime begins to form with dirt washed off upper end of engine by fuel
line leak to the lower half where it all dries in to a soft tar like
Oooze, by 5th year crust begins to form with geologic sedamentary like
layers indicating changes in season and fuel aditives still leaking from
patched hose which now protects all exposed parts of engine / motor
mounts / bell housing / cross member / and steering)
Simply put, if these things didn't leak, they would have rusted
away years ago. Even the Spark Plugs are well lubricated, each in their
own supply of warm engine oil. You'll never see any Spark Plug bearings
wearing out here 8-)

Rich

Reminising about when I removed the grime from the Pan and block with
wide Putty knife. Worked great too!
