I am new to the list. I was on the SOL list for a few years but I guess they
broke it up into marques. Just signed up to the list today because I just
bought a 66 Alpine. I also have a 68 Spit. 7 old british bikes , a 55 chev
and a 56 ford pickup and probably some other stuff.
The Alpine looks very clean. In storage for 8 years some bubbling on the
rockers (no holes) but that seems to be the only rust. Undercarriage looks
very sound. Nice wires but no spare. It was the real nice blue but someone
painted it red several years ago. It has 85,000 miles on it. Smokes a bit
etc. but looks like a real nice sound car. good enough to work on at least.
Paid 2,200 for it. seems like a fair price. Always wanted an Alpine. I am
sure I'll have questions when I get to looking at it closer. No time to do
much till late fall anyway.
Look forward to the discussions. I won't be much help. hope I am not much of
a bother.
