On damp, hot days, my steering wheel on my Series IV becomes tacky
and actually rubs off a black goo on my hands. Has anyone else had
this? Besides putting on a steering wheel cover, has anyone done
anything to prevent this?

This doesn't happen on my Alpine, Commer, or Humber, but my Cricket
wheel gets downright gross if the weather is damp and warm. I think the
problem is the finish coat, whatever it was, has flaked off, and the actual
material of the wheel is reacting to the moisture. I'm going to try an epoxy
paint before I resort to a cover. I'll post how it works out, if I ever
finish the brake overhaul on the Super Snipe!
