Hello all!! Been a while since I've posted any questions but I have some good
news that prompts my first question. I have finally been able to turn my 1494
engine by hand....it appears that the frontmost main bearing was binding. I
have removed the center and read endcaps so that I can inspect those bearings,
however, I have not been able to remove the front end cap. I have removed the
2 bolts holding the end cap in place and it looks like there is something
protruding from the end cap int the timing chain area. What is this thing thats
binding this end cap?? And is the only way to remove it from the timing chain
area?
Next question, I have a friend here thats looking for a splined hub for a 1972
MG, left rear wheel, for wire wheels. He'll take used if in good condition.
If anyone has one for sale or knows of a good source please let me know.
As usual I thank you all in advance for your help!
