In my experience it's the Tigers that run hot with all that engine in
such a small place-When I brought my Alpine I was told that they should
run cool except if there is cylinder head corrosion. Which unfortunately
is not uncommon with our aluminium heads. Interestingly enough for years
I thought my temp guage was broken as it never seemed to move from cold
(except if I was idling for long periods of time ie greater than 20 mins
and even then it only rose to the middle of the gauge) But following
reconditioning of the engine it certainly ran hot until such time as the
engine was run in-following this it has returned to its cold position.
