My statement with respect to re-adjustment of my valves, probably
should not be of any concern, because the amount of lash that
has accumulated simply would not be an issue on a normal
engine with a normal camshaft. On my engine with my cam
and my valves, it is quite noisy, but this is the nature of the beast
with performance, and higher maintanance is the price paid.

The SV crank is absoulutely NOT forged.
The S1 to SIV crank IS forged.
It has a very narrow parting line, and rings with a dull thud
when struck with a hammer.
Look at a SV crank carefully, and bring a hammer.
The cast crank is the only thing that I worry about on the 5 main
motor. I think that all other issues with the performance of SV
engines is easily rectified.
Rods can be treated or replaced with Carrillos.
Bigger valves can be installed.
Bigger carbs, stronger valve springs ECT, but the
cast crank is the only part I cant seem to bring up to
hipo specs.
