But what does the 3 main crank sound like?
When I ran the hammer test, the SV crank sounded about the same as
you describe, atlhough I do not recall a change in pitch.
The forged crank will ring for a much longer period of time, like
tens of seconds.
The rapid decay of the ring "relative to known forged", and the impure
tone, say its a casting to me.
