Well I finally got some time to get under my car and have a good look at my
transmission. It turns out that when my mechanic took the engine out to
rebuild it, he forgot to reinstall the three bolts that mount the
transmission to the cross member. These bolts also help seal the rear part
of the case. Thanks to all that helped with suggestions.
