Chris - Commer vans were built by Rootes and sold along wiyh Hillmans,
Sunbeams and Singers in the UK. As far as I know, only a very small number
of 1500cc Dormobiles, or camper conversiona were ever commercially imported
to the US. I know of a LHD Dormobile that is for sale in west Los Angeles
that is rust-free and cheap, and Dave Destler, former editor of British Car
Magazine (818) 710-1234 ) had a big 6 cyl RHD dormer in the Valley that he
was trying to sell for years. Help sources here in the US would be Rick
McLeod at Sunbeam Specialties (408) 371-1642), Norman Miller at The Rootes
Group Depot in Redwood City, CA (650-364-1965)or Ruth Bash (408) 984-1474
from the California Sunbeam/Rootes Club. Anyone out there in British Car
Land know anything more?
