Questions and more questions...

Hi everybody,

At long last my new garage is now complete. It has taken 10 months to build
but it was worth the wait. ( I made sure I had space to work so I built it
129 square meters big)
I can now start working on my sad looking Alpine.
I am wanting to repair the rust that has got the better of my Alpine. I was
informed that 1mm cold rolled sheet steel is the best to use when
manufacturing pieces to repair bodywork. Is this information correct or is
there a better type or thickness of steel to use?
I have also encountered a problem with my farther's MK3. The overdrive does
not want to engage correcly. It seems to work better if I tap off on the
power when activating the switch. What could cause this?
The brakes are shot on my alpine. What are the part munbers for the
replacement rubbers for the master and slave cylinders for the braking system?
One last question. The previous owner of my car took it upon himself to
disconnect and remove all the workings for the interior heater system for
the car. I noticed in the workshop manual that there is a valve system which
is cable activatred that controls the water flow to the interior heater
radiator. Are these available (If so from where?) or is there a replacement
one can use from a more modern vehicle?
I am looking foward to repairing my Alpine and making it look and go like
new. Any reply on these few questions (Although I am sure there will be many
more to come.)would be greatly appreciated.....

Many thanks

Keep on "BEAMING"
