It's so. But put it in perspective: when the Alpine was new, roll-up windows
were still a novelty on British sports cars.
You can use the two speed blower and switch from a later Series. I know that
Series V had them, but am not sure on what Series they first appeared.
While not a solution for faster wipers, variable speeds can be obtained with
one of the delay units found in many auto supply departments. Most of these
units require the car be converted to negative ground (S.II was positive
ground). You should be able to find them in the $10 to $50US range depending
upon where you shop.
