Larry:

It sounds as though you have a hot open. Check the wire going into your
wiper motor with a test-light or a meter when the motor has stopped on
its own. If you still have power going into the motor, check the ground
by grounding with a jumper to a known good ground. If the motor does not
start, your problem is inside the motor and it probably needs an
overhaul. If you don't have power going into the motor, that means the
problem is in your wiring. Use your jumper to bridge each section back
to the power source and if the wiper starts up, replace that secton of
wiring. Hope this helps!
