My brake master cylinder and reservoir are indeed one piece. I've just had a
look under the bonnet of a friend's Series IV and he has the same thing as me
(including the spacer between the BMC and firewall.) Perhaps there was a
different unit for LHD and RHD cars. If my BMC were on a LHD car I expect it
would foul the carburettors.
