Earlier OEM lucas coils have rivet on spade terminals.

With time and vibration, the rivets loosen and corrode.

Other things to check are the ground strap inside the distributor, as
well as the ignition switch wire is connected.

To diagnose the ignition, connect a 12v light bulb from the
distributor / points connection to the chassis.

When the points open, the light will go on, and when the points close,
the light will go off.

If the light is always on, even when cranking, the points are open,
or the internal ground strap is open or dissconected.

If the light is aways off, the points are shorted to the chassis, or
the coil or the coil supply leads are open.

Be certain that the coil supply has battery voltage on it to verify
that the ignition switch and ignition wire are connected.

Hope this helps.
